Long Beach Police Anti-Gang Detectives Arrest Six People

LONG BEACH (CNS) - Long Beach police anti-gang detectives arrested six people on various weapon and drug violations, authorities said today.
Police served warrants on Wednesday in connection with investigations into gang-related violent crimes that occurred earlier this summer in the west side of the city, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Investigators seized seven firearms, a quantity of methamphetamine, and $6,000 in cash, police said.
Police arrested the following suspects, all from Long Beach:
-- Rogelio Ayala, 40, possession of an illegal weapon, not a firearm.
-- Edwin Lopez, 26, destruction of identification marks on firearms.
-- Raymond Moreno, 34, ex-felon in possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
-- Jonathan De La Torre, 19, assault with a deadly weapon and shooting at an occupied dwelling.
-- Brandon Castillo, 19, outstanding warrants.
-- A 17-year-old whose name was withheld, possession of a controlled substance.
