Hilary Duff Fans Commemorate The 15th Anniversary Of 'Metamorphosis'

Can you believe it's been 15 years since Hilary Duff's debut album Metamorphosis was released? It seems like just yesterday we all rushed to our local Walmart or Sam Goody to buy the actual, physical CD and played it on repeat on our walkmans. We sang into hairbrushes and curling irons, dancing around our rooms just like Hilary did in the opening sequence of the Lizzie McGuire movie. Those were the days.

It's no surprise that Metamorphosis debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, moved to number one a week after it dropped, and went on to became the eighth best selling album of 2003. The album eventually sold five million copies worldwide, as well, cementing it as one of the most beloved albums of the early aughts.

For many millennials, Metamorphosis remains a favorite. On the 15th anniversary, fans took a walk down memory lane to commemorate the soundtrack of their childhood on Twitter. Of course, the Lizzie McGuire fan account was quick to give the iconic album a shoutout:

The nostalgia was real for so many as they remembered purchasing the album with friends and listening to the album over and over again.

Remember the days when we had to play albums on Barbie radios? When was the last time you even bought a physical copy of an album?

Hilary Duff and Metamorphosis, of course, got the meme treatment. Welcome to 2018, Metamorphosis

Others pointed out how influential Hilary's music career was on the Disney stars that followed in her footsteps, such as Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, and Hilary Duff

We've all done this before. We learned from the best, after all.

Happy 15th birthday, Metamorphosis! Thanks for all the amazing tracks.
