The 11-Year-Old Girl Who Met Drake Is Getting A New Heart

Sofia Sanchez made two birthday wishes last week: to meet her idol Drake and to receive a new heart. The 11-year-old cardiomyopathy patient saw one of those wishes come true last week when Drake stopped by her hospital room to surprise her. Their meeting was captured on video and the whole encounter is absolutely heartwarming. From Sofia's excited shriek to Drake admitting he's watched the hit teen drama Riverdale, the video will make your day. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the pair also “bonded over Justin Bieber, basketball and Drake’s two dogs.”

While you may think it's tough to top that, things have only continued to get better for Sofia. In a new video posted to Facebook, it's been revealed that Sofia is getting her new heart. While Sofia's mom films her, she recaps her two birthday wishes. "My birthday wishes...to meet Drake, and that one did happen and it was great, and my other wish is to get a heart. Which is gonna happen soon," Sofia says. Soon after, her mom tells Sofia that her second wish is coming through: a new heart is on the way. Sofia's emotional reaction will bring tears to your eyes. "I'm getting a heart, Mom?" Sofia asks. "Oh my God!"
