A young child brought rush hour traffic to a halt in Southern California after he rode his tricycle into the middle of a busy Santa Ana road. Dashcam video captured the moment the boy inches toward the busy intersection and a minivan comes dangerously close to hitting the child.
Other cars noticed the boy and stopped at the busy intersection, allowing the boy to start riding across the street. Sarah Tran, the woman who captured the incident on her newly installed dashcam, stopped her car, got out and brought him back to safety.
"He was determined to go into the middle of the road," she told Fox 11. "I was so afraid of cars just not seeing him because he's so small and bolting into him."
Santa Ana Police Department Corporal Anthony Bertagna told the news station that the incident was not reported to police, but he wondered where the boy's parents were.
"Was the kid supervised? How did the kid get out into a busy street like that, that would be evaluated. these incidents are on a case-by-case basis."
