Who says romance is dead?

56-year-old Max Montgomery and Andi Traynor thought it might be nice to go out surfing as their first date together.

According to ABC 13, Montgomery was out on the waves when he found himself becoming exhausted and felt a burning sensation in his chest. After deciding to get out of the water and take a break on the beach, he collapsed.

Fortunately for him, Traynor is a doctor and she immediately began to perform CPR on him. A nurse who happened to be walking by at the time, jumped in to help keep Montgomery alive as well.

The entire incident was captured by someone who was filming a time-lapse of the beach that day. In the video, Traynor and the Good Samaritan nurse can be seen attending to Montgomery until emergency crews arrive.

Montgomery was taken to the hospital where he underwent bypass surgery. He's fine and he and Traynor are continue to date, 10 months later.
