Virginia Man Builds Electric Fence Near Bus Stop To Keep Kids Off His Lawn

A Virginia homeowner got tired of children hanging out on his lawn while waiting for the school bus so he decided to do something about it. Every year he has had to deal with students fighting, cursing and littering on his lawn before they head to school.

“They don’t respect other people’s land,” Bryan Tucker told WTVR-News. “I pick up trash every day.”

To keep the kids off his property as they head back to school, Tucker installed a battery-powered electrified fence to separate his lawn from the bus stop. The fence upset parents who were concerned that their kids could get electrocuted if they come in contact with it.

"What, you don't like kids?" Wayne Milby, a neighborhood parent, wondered. "Me, I'm a parent and I don't want any children to get electrocuted."

The parents called the police, who ordered Tucker to move back the fence because it was placed on county property. He hopes that he does not have to rebuild the fence and believes that he made his point.

“The message has gotten across. Parents are posting and talking about it,” Tucker said.
