Woman Pleads Guilty To Traffic Death On Causeway

A Louisiana woman will be sentenced this fall following her guilty plea yesterday to charges related to a deadly traffic accident on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.

A Jefferson Parish judge set Olivia Matte's sentencing for November 15th.

Authorities say the 28-year-old Covington woman was drunk behind the wheel when the crash occurred in March of last year, killing 37-year-old James Blackmond of Foxworth, Mississippi and injuring his passenger.
