It's goodbye Childish Gambino and hello Donald Glover.

Childish Gambino is preparing to hang up his mic for good. Childish, whose real name is Donald Glover, announced on Thursday (September 6) night that his current "This Is America Tour" will be his last.

"If you're at this show, then you know this is the last Gambino tour ever," he told the crowd at the Infinite Energy Arena in Atlanta, the first stop of his "TIA tour." "I love you forever for supporting me and coming out for this sh*t."  While the concert marked the beginning of the end for Gambino, the "Redbone" rapper debuted two new songs — "Algorhythm" and "All Might" —  which he exclusively sent to fans, who'd previously purchased tickets to his tour, earlier this week.

Back in January, the rapper confirmed that his next album would be his last as Gambino. “I stand by that," he said at the 2018 Grammys after winning Best Traditional R&B Performance. "I’m really appreciative of this. I’m making another project right now. But I like endings, I think they’re important to progress.” He added, “I think if a lot of things had death clauses in them, we wouldn’t have a lot of problems in the world, to be honest. I think ending are good because they force things to get better.”

As fans know, the "This Is America" rapper has been focusing on acting, writing, producing and directing for years. Donald won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2017 for his show Emmy-nominated show Atlanta, which he created and stars in.  This year, he starred in the Solo: A Star Wars Story and he's the voice of Simba in the upcoming live-action Lion King.

Gambino released his most recent album, Awaken, My Love!, in 2016.

The "Summer Time Magic" rapper is set to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas next month. The two-day festival will be held Sept. 21 and 22 at the T-Mobile Arena.
