Carrie Underwood Says Fitness Is Her Therapy

Carrie Underwood doesn’t need the fancy luxuries of life.

Just give the country megastar some time to work on her fitness, and she’s good. Carrie recently told a group of Nashville reporters why exercise is both her physical and emotional solitude. “I feel like it’s my therapy every day,” the “Love Wins” singer says. “I don’t go get massages, I don’t go get facials. That would be great. I might get a massage twice a year – some Mother’s Day present or something, which I literally have a gift card for that, that’s like two years old that I have not used for Mother’s Day.”

Carrie works with celebrity personal trainer Erin Oprea and adds exercise is her “thing.” “I don't need vacations even. I’m like, ‘Honey, you can give me like an hour, I’m good. You don’t have to take me out. It’s fine.’ That’s kind of my therapy. I feel like a lot of what I do is physically demanding.”

The physical demands for Carrie continue when she launches The Cry Pretty 360 Tour on May 1, 2019. Her new album, Cry Pretty, drops Friday (9/14).
