Dua Lipa was not happy after a number of her fans were violently removed from her concert at the National Exhibition and Convention center in Shanghai on Wednesday (September 12) for reportedly standing up and waving rainbow flags to support LGBTQ rights.

"Last night I did it for my fans," the 23-year-old singer wrote in a note after the concert. "A promised show. I stood by them, sang with them and danced with them. I will stand by you all for your love and beliefs and I am proud and grateful that you felt safe enough to show your pride at my show. What you did takes a lot of bravery. I always want my music to bring strength, hope and unity."

Later in the note, the singer went on to admit that she was "horrified by what happened." "I would love to come back when the time is right and hopefully see a room full of rainbows," she continued. This marked the singer's second and final date in China on the trek.

Take a look at some of the fan-shot footage from the event and you'll notice that security was particularly rough with fans at the show, pulling them out of their seat for reportedly breaking the rules. As Billboard noted, homosexuality was decriminalized in China in 1997, but any LGBTQ-related content has been censored from the Weibo social media platform. Scroll on below to see the footage.
