Goddard Park's karaoke queen has officially made it to big leagues.

Mary Halsey, a.k.a Missy Elliott's "funky white sister," got the surprise of her life when her "sister from another mister," surprised her on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.  While Mary, who was a scheduled guest on the talk show, performed Missy's 2002 hit "Work It" (the song that made Mary a viral sensation), Missy made a surprise appearance midway through her performance to rap alongside her "sister."

For those who don't know, The Rhode Island native went viral earlier this summer when she shared a video of her coming for Missy's hip-hop throne as she effortlessly performed "Work It." In just a few weeks, the video racked up millions of views as viewers flocked to the clip that featured Mary performing the classic track with an animal horn in one hand and a mic in the other during a cookout. It can't go without mentioning, the viral sensation's performance was equipped with a tiptoeing, cup of noodles eating, back up dancer! Mary's friend nearly stole the show as she went in and out of the video eating a cup of noodles while Mary performed.

The performance was such Internet gold, it even got Missy's attention, who tweeted at the time: "I just found out I have a FUNKY WHITE SISTER😳😩😂🤣 forreal doe😂🤣& she brought her home girl with her from da hood that keep tip toeing in the background with a plate of food🤣 yo I’m done!😂 but she straight killed “Work It” sound effects & all🙌🏾 I love it🔥🙌🏾."

While on Ellen, Missy doubled down on her previous comments when asked what made Mary's karaoke performance stand out from the crowd. “Everything,” the rapper replied. “When she first said, ‘Missy’s funky white sister,’ I’m like, ‘Who is this?!’ So when I listen, I’m like, she know[s] all the words, but the sound effects — she made the elephant noise, all of that….I thought it was the most amazing thing.”

Mary has a long history with the song as she explained she's been singing and performing it for "15 years" at karaoke competitions. “The song had come out in 2002 and it was really popular. And I said, I could do that song — maybe I could try," Mary explained. "I learned, I read the words, I studied it, and the reaction I got was so positive that it became my go-to song. Everybody wants to hear it.”
