Lady Gaga clearly knows a thing or two about getting in front of the mic, but the pop titan recently revealed that she stopped "dead in her tracks" while hearing her A Star Is Born co-star Bradley Cooper sing during the filming of the highly-anticipated movie.
During her Wednesday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Mother Monster spoke a bit about Cooper's involvement in the upcoming film, which hits theaters on October 5. "We're both from the east coast, and we're both Italian, so before I knew it I was heating up leftovers in the kitchen and feeding him and we were talking about life," she told the comedian. "And then we started to sing together at the piano - a song by Creedence Clearwater Revival, 'Midnight Special' and I heard his voice and I stopped dead in my tracks and I said 'Oh my gosh, Bradley ... you can sing.' He sings from his soul. And you now what? He's a great songwriter, he wrote on all of his songs for this film."
Later in the sit-down, Gaga revealed that she dyed her hair back to blonde the night that she finished shooting the film to get her character out of her system. "I literally dyed my hair blonde the night that we stopped shooting because I wanted to get out of it as soon as possible because there is — without giving away the end of the film — there is some tremendous emotion and tragedy, so I wanted to get her out, but to be honest, she’s still in here," she recalled.
Ellen is the last promotional stop for Gaga's upcoming film, which has received roaring reviews and currently had a 95 percent score on film critic website, Rotten Tomatoes. Beyond booking her appearances for the film, the singer is also prepping the launch of her Las Vegas residency, "Lady Gaga Enigma," which begins December 28th at Park Theater at the new Park MGM resort.
