North Carolina Central University Presents SISTER ACT

North Carolina Central University Departments of Theatre, Music, and Art have joined artistic talents to present Broadway’s SISTER ACT on Sept. 28, 29 & Oct. 5, 6 at 8:00pm and Sept. 30 & Oct. 7 at 3:00pm in the University Theatre located in the building of Farrison-Newton Communication Building. A suggested $15 donation will be accepted at the door.
Based on the motion picture featuring Whoopi Goldberg, this divine musical comedy harmonizes the sounds of sisterhood and acceptance. It provides a family evening of musical entertainment and enlightenment.
The play is directed by Dr. Stephanie Howard (Asabi) and Irvin Truitt with Dr. Irea Butler serving as the musical conductor; and, Professor Connie Floyd undertaking the scenographic set designs. Other production members include Ms. Paula Nunn Lacewell (Vocal Director); Tina Liggins (Choreographer); Professor Arthur Reese (Technical Director); and Pamela Bond (Costumer).
Other production credits include Music by Alan Menken; Lyrics by Glenn Slater; and Book by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner with additional Book Material by Douglas Carter Beane.
