Foo Fighters' Cal Jam '18 is going down in San Bernardino, California this Friday and Saturday (October 5 and 6), and aside from a killer lineup the rockers are teasing a possible, very exciting, reunion.
The band's frontman Dave Grohl was famously the drummer of Nirvana before starting FF, and it seems like he might be trying to get the band back together. Nirvana's touring guitarist Pat Smear is a current band mate of Grohl's, and Krist Novoselic, Nirvana’s bassist, will also be playing at Cal Jam with his band Giants in the Trees. When Nirvana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, the trio played a set of songs with a rotating cast of vocalists, including Joan Jett and John McAuley of Deer Tick—both singers will also be present at this weekend's festival.
To make matters more exciting, on Wednesday (October 3) the Foos posted a snippet of audio that Consequence of Sound reports is Nirvana's "Serve the Servants" played backward for a 2014 performance in which McAuley sang. “This is a Jam @caljamfest #CalJam18," the caption reads. Nirvana's official account retweeted the clip.

Additionally, the Foos responded to a Cal Jam tweet announcing a Jett documentary screening during the festival, writing: “CAN’T WAIT!!!! What else could we have up our sleeves?? Stay tuned…”

We'll have to wait and see what exactly FF has up their sleeves this weekend, but all signs are pointing to a Nirvana reunion, and that is squeal-worthy.
