Taylor Swift Brings Out Maren Morris to Sing 'The Middle' in Texas

Taylor Swift's North American leg of her Reputation tour is wrapping up, and the pop star is making sure it ends with a bang.

The last two dates (October 5 and 6) are at Arlington, Texas' massive AT&T Stadium, and on Friday night Swift brought out a dear friend, and Arlington native, to perform with her onstage. 

Maren Morris has been following in the 28-year-old's footsteps for the past few years, creating pop-country crossover bops, and earlier this year she redefined the potential of crossover by collaborating with EDM icon Zedd for their chart-topping hit "The Middle."

Morris joined Swift onstage to perform that track, and after the show was over the two songbirds went to social media to praise one another.

"Rooted in country, 90s babies, genre-bending, unapologetic," Morris tweeted alongside performance footage. "I look up a whole lot to how you’ve made a career and I hope to someday achieve even a percent of what you’ve so gracefully cultivated @taylorswift13 . You know no boundaries, and that’s what music should be about."

"VOCALS MAREN. Maren is from Arlington TX and judging from the deafening screeches of joy from the crowd, they are proud of her," Swift captioned an Instagram video of the two performing. "So so grateful this happened, I was so happy I was really just bopping like an 8 year old alone in my room."

Swift also posted a gallery on Instagram of the two rehearsing then performing. "Frolicking with Maren in an empty stadium and then a full one," she wrote. "Thanks for a magical evening guys. This was one to remember."

Swift heads to Australia and New Zealand for a handful of shows in October and November before wrapping up her Reputation tour with two nights in Tokyo at the end of November.
