Johnny MacKay from Vancouver, Washington thought he was doing the smart thing by calling for a cab after having a few drinks at a local bar. He left his truck in the parking lot underneath a light and went home, planning to return the next morning to pick up his vehicle.

When MacKay arrived at the bar the next morning, he was shocked to see that his truck was totally destroyed after being set on fire and vandalized with anti-Trump spray paint.

"All of a sudden I saw the tires were melted, the windows were shattered, and I was just in shock," MacKay told KOIN

A witness who lives across the street from the bar told the news station that he was woken up when the truck exploded in the middle of the quiet night.

"All of a sudden I hear a loud bomb and the windows shake," Randy Sanchagrin said.

MacKay, who did not vote for President Donald Trump in 2016, said he had just put the bumper stickers on his truck this past weekend and could not believe that somebody would go to such extremes over a political bumper sticker.

"If I would've known somebody would've taken politics this far -- I saw them, I thought they were funny and apparently somebody didn't get the joke."
