Next year's Experience Hendrix celebration of Jimi Hendrix will be the biggest yet, featuring an all-star cast of blues, jazz and rock music greats all paying tribute to one of the world's most iconic guitarists.
Experience Hendrix 2019 not only boasts the biggest names to ever grace the tour, it also will be the longest trek yet, spanning 30 U.S. dates.
The upcoming edition of the tour features modern day guitar god, Hendrix disciple and 15-time GRAMMY Award-nominee Joe Satriani, blues legend Taj Mahal, R&B great Ernie Isley and pure-bred music genius Dweezil Zappa.
"The tour is more than a series of concerts," said Janie Hendrix, CEO of Experience Hendrix, LLC. "It's a celebration of a man whose amazing gift changed the face of music and informed an entire culture. His influences were varied and diverse. And this year we're shining a light on that diversity with artists who represent it across cultures and who also share a love for Jimi and his music. It's exciting to be able to honor Jimi's enduring legacy in this way."
Megadeth's heavy metal mastermind Dave Mustaine will make his debut on the tour, joining Experience Hendrix vets Johnny Lang and Eric Johnson.
"The Experience Hendrix tours are always so much fun," said Satriani. "The camaraderie between all the musicians on the show is magical. I'm so excited to play some deep Hendrix tracks in a power trio setting..."
Satriani is also bringing along King's X bassist Doug Pinnick and legendary sideman drummer Kenny Aronoff in his band.
Also returning this year is Hendrix's former Band of Gypsys and Jimi Hendrix Experience bassist Billy Cox, who provides a bridge between Hendrix's timeless past work and the musicians breathing new life into it today.
