Nostalgia is a trend that refuses to die, and while it may be increasingly pointless to take a deep dive into that which took place not so long ago, there’s still some ways to get creative about the past. If you want a recent example of this, look no further than Charli XCX and Troye Sivan’s new music video for their track “1999,” a peppy pop track that harkens back to the ‘90s, when the Spice Girls reigned supreme on the charts and Kate & Leo were Hollywood’s hottest onscreen couple. The visual is full of references to that period in time, and while Charli and Troye may not have been quite old enough to appreciate it (they were born in 1992 and 1995, respectively), they killed it with the video anyway. Scroll on to check out every ‘90s reference from “1999”!
