Rod Stewart Would Reunite With Jeff Beck for New Album

October 25, 2018

Not only is Rod Stewart not interested in retiring, he's always looking ahead to his next creative project.

Lately, Stewart has been looking back fondly on his days fronting the Jeff Beck Group and collaborating with one the greatest guitarists of all-time.

He tells Rolling Stone in a new interview that he'd like nothing more than to do another record with Jeff Beck, if the two can get their creative visions in line.

"Well, my voice and his guitar is a match made in heaven," Stewart said. "It would be a lovely thing to do. It'd be a complete lefthand turn. We did try it once, but we couldn't see eye to eye — I mean, a serious clash of egos, but you know, never say never. I know it's a cliché, but really, I'm up for it if he's up for it."

It would take effort for the two visionary musicians to work together again. Stewart outlined the biggest potential stumbling block.

"The thing is, we both want to produce. That's the thing," Stewart explained.

Now that Stewart's sentiment is out there, the singer says he hopes Beck will respond.

The Jeff Beck Group was Beck's first band after leaving The Yardbirds in 1967. Stewart fronted the band from '67 - '69, singing on its first two albums, Truth and Beck-Ola
