Kesha's latest music video pays homage to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. On Wednesday (October 24), the pop star unleashed her one-woman visual for the rollicking anthem "Here Comes the Change" from the upcoming motion picture, On the Basis of Sex.
The black-and-white video starts off with the singer-songwriter gathering her instruments in an old-fashioned attic, where she whips out a chair and plays the opening chords with her acoustic guitar. As she strums along, various close-up shots capture a bare-faced Kesha feeling the excitement of the record as thunderous bass beats and harmonica come in as she enters the chorus.
The visual also features several scenes from the movie, which follows Ginsburg (Felicity Jones) and her husband (Armie Hammer) as they lead an unprecedented case before the Supreme Court that will overthrow a century of sex discrimination.

The film's director, Mimi Leder, courted the superstar personally to write the number for the screenplay. “I wanted her to write this song because her passionate voice and immense talent magnify the social justice imperatives Ruth Bader Ginsburg continues to fight for every day,” Leder said in a statement. “It was important to both of us that this song be not only an anthem to all that Ruth Bader Ginsburg achieved, but also a rallying cry for how much more change is yet to come.”
On the Basis of Sex opens on Christmas Day.
