Morgan Evans Reveals His Real Life "Me vs. Drunk Me" Situations (VIDEO)

Morgan Evans has a lot to drink to these days. The 33-year-old recently released his second full-length studio album, appropriately titled Things That We Drink To, he's heading out on tour with Dan + Shay in the spring of 2019, and not to mention he married the love of his life, Kelsea Ballerini, late last year.

Things That We Drink To follows the Australia native's 2014 self-titled debut album, and showcases 11 new songs, including his hit single "Kiss Somebody" and a duet with his now-wife called "Dance With Me." The album title comes from the title track, which is a tribute to Morgan's late manager, Rob Potts, who passed away last year in a motorcycle accident.

Evans tells iHeartRadio of Things That We Drink To, "I named the album Things That We Drink To after the song 'Things That We Drink To.' That song is a tribute to my late manager, we lost him last year. And on the day of his memorial, we were in the studio and we wrote that song as a celebration of life and his memory, and I knew straight away that that song had to be a part of this album. Then, as the other songs were kind of finding their places on there, I realized that there were all of these great moments from my life in the last couple of years; finding a new home in Nashville, and meeting the girl, and getting married. You can raise a glass to all these things. And, I thought that song title would make a great album title for that reason."

Although "Things That We Drink To" is obviously a special song to Morgan, so is "Dance With Me" featuring Kelsea Ballerini. He tells us, "It was just from a pure moment. It was like seven or eight weeks after Kelsea and I had met, and I was waiting for her to come and perform on a morning TV show, and it was like 9 AM on a Tuesday morning. I was just sitting on their couch with a guitar, and that whole first verse's chorus just came out. There's something real and honest about it, and I still feel that way when I hear it. And obviously now with Kelsea singing on it too, it's even more special."

In the spirit of Evans' Things That We Drink To album, while at iHeartRadio HQ, the country star also played a game of "Me vs. Drunk Me." We presented Morgan with several real-life situations and asked him to tell us "Me" or "Drunk Me," perhaps after he's raised a glass to all the things in his life he drinks to. Read on below.

When you hit the drive-through after midnight

"There's a drive-through kind of close to our house in Nashville. It's called Cook Out. We never had a Cook Out in Australia, so, I try to go there. They call it Southern barbecue or whatever, but you can get whatever you want. I get the beans. Always get the beans."

When you make friends with complete strangers

"I feel like 'Me' and 'Drunk Me' are very similar people in this way. Sometimes I'm the annoying guy on the plane who will try to start a conversation with you. And sometimes I'm the annoying guy in the bar that will try and start a conversation with you, so..."

When you send novel-like texts to your friends & family

"Novel-like texts is probably regular me. I feel like drunk me thinks about those much less."

When you pack on the PDA

"I've only been married 10 months." 😂

When you make plans that you completely forgot about

"I'm the same person drunk or sober evidently, because I always make plans I forget about, and then I have to ask someone, 'Did we plan that for that day or was that last week...oh, sorry.'"

When you find random things in your pockets

"Regular me finds random things in my pockets that were left there by drunk me. Thank you, drunk me. I haven't done this for a while, but I used to actually set myself up for these great occasions. Like if I had a pair of jeans on or something, I'd leave like, 10 bucks in there or something like that. And then just knowing that next time I wore them I'd be like, 'Oh! I found 10 bucks today!'"

When you hit the mic hard at karaoke

"That's drunk me at karaoke, for sure. And, on the night the album came out, drunk me was doing some karaoke and we were doing a Backstreet Boys song.

On singing Backstreet Boys karaoke with Ed Sheeran and Kelsea Ballerini:

"He came down to the album release party, and he and Kelsea had been writing that day, so they came down and we celebrated the release of the album. He was telling me about where he was when he released his first album in the U.S. and I was like, 'Do you know where I was when I released my first album?...I was with you, here at this bar!' So, we had a few beers and we sang Backstreet Boys. [Ed] was like, 'We're singing a song. *NSYNC or Backstreet Boys, you pick." And so I picked Backstreet Boys."

When you say something you completely regret

"I'm so bad at this game. I feel like me [and drunk me] ... we say the same things all the time. And definitely when this guy gets tired, he says stuff that he doesn't really mean. And, I don't know. This guy has a habit of just talking rubbish all of the time, too."

When you set absurd alarms on your phone for the following morning

"Oh, this happened the other day. So, the day that 'Kiss Somebody' went number one, we had a little celebration that turned into a large celebration. And, I went to bed thinking I was totally good to get up and go in the studio the next morning. And, Kelsea knew better and she'd gone into my phone and she'd texted the two guys that I was working with the next day and said, 'Hey, this is Morgan, I won't be able to come in today.' And so I woke up in a fog and I was getting ready to go and write, and then I saw these messages from guys saying, 'No worries, no worries.' So, thankfully my wife looked after drunk me that night."

When you leave a note(s) to yourself

"Both these guys leave notes to themselves. Usually through the form of email. I email myself a lot when I think of something. I don't really have a to-do list anywhere, but I know I'll check that. The only difference is that you can understand this guy's [me] emails a little bit better. Sometimes these ones [drunk me] are a little bit cryptic. Like, three words and you're like, 'How do they even fit together, those three words?'"
