It's been a rough year for Ariana Grande, so her friends decided to lift her spirits with a surprise performance from a mariachi band of her brand-new single, "thank u, next," and it was the sweetest thing you'll see all day.

On Friday (November 9), Grande took to social media to share footage of the big unveil, which went down the night before in the backyard of a house. "Where are we going? I'm so scared. Are you going to push me in the pool or something?" she asked friends Victoria Monét and Tayla Parx, who co-wrote the track with her. "Oh my God. I'm cold. I'm already cold. I hate surprises." Shortly after, the 25-year-old turned around to see the band playing the break-up anthem, which is eyeing the No. 1 spot on the upcoming installment of Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

"yoooooooooo i can’t believe my friends got me a mariachi band last night. that s**t was wild," she tweeted. "i think that's the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me. i was also super tipsy and then all of a sudden there was a mariachi band in my back yard. do u know how insane that is?"

Grande recently opened up about her mental health in her TV special, "Ariana Grande at the BBC," and detailed just why her anxiety has led her to feel guilty given her power star responsibilities. "I almost feel guilty that I have it [anxiety] because it's just in your head and it's just so crazy how powerful it is," she told BBC host Davina McCall. "You have ups and downs and sometimes you'll go weeks at a time where you will be crushing it and there will be no anxiety…and then something will happen that can trigger it and then you have a couple of down days."
