Zac Brown Band has a brand-spankin' new single out — and it was written by Shawn Mendes.
ZBB kicked this Friday (November 9) off with the release of an exuberant guitar ditty called "Someone I Used to Know" that's sure to get you on your feet.
The record, the Atlanta-based country band's first in two years, features prominent harmonica melodies, acoustic guitar and mandolin rhythms over an up-tempo beat made perfect for dancing. "Had to hit rock bottom to know/ When you keep on losin' with the path you're choosin'/ Then it's time to let go/ Of someone that I used to know," frontman Zac Brown sings in the ditty of the burdens of past memories that often get the best of us.
The group's latest tune also includes lyrics co-penned by the 20-year-old pop star, with whom the members got acquainted during their performance on CMT Crossroads a few months ago.
"Shawn is an incredibly talented artist and it's been exciting to watch his career rise over the past few years," said Zac. "We've had fun collaborating together, this Crossroads will be very special with huge vocals and musicality. It will be unexpected and something that both sets of fans will enjoy."

In tandem with the song's release, the group also announced tour dates for Spring 2019 as an extension of their ongoing "Down the Rabbit Hole Live Tour." As of now, no opening act has been selected for the eight-piece's upcoming jaunt, which begins in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 1 and culminates in Peoria, Illinois on April 27.
