A scuffle between players on the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills following a disputed touchdown spiraled out of control when players started throwing punches and had to be separated as they continued to fight in the tunnel leading into the locker room.

The fight broke out in the third quarter after Jaguars wide receiver Donte Moncrief and Bills defensive back Levi Wallace wrestled for control of a deep pass in the end zone. The referees ruled Moncrief caught the ball and was awarded a touchdown, but both players refused to let go of the football. Their teammates rushed over and started pushing and shoving each other.

Leonard Fournette ran over from the sidelines and started fighting with Buffalo Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson behind the end zone. The brawl spilled into the tunnel as players and officials tried to break up the fight. Both players were ejected.

After the game, which the Jaguars lost 24-21, Fournette apologized and took responsibility for the loss.

“This loss is totally on me. I take full responsibility,” Fournette told reporters in the locker room. “I have to be a professional. I mean, you can't have that."

Buffalo coach Sean McDermott said that he spoke with Lawson and does not plan to discipline him for his actions.

"I'll go back and look at it, but at the end of the day, a guy defending his teammate -- and I've sat and already talked with Shaq, we do things the right way -- but when people step up and challenge us, I don't expect us to back down," McDermott said.
