The Foo Fighters are about to be able to say something not many — if any — artists can: they had a whole venue built for them.
On February 2nd, 2019, Dave Grohl and company will be performing in Atlanta during DIRECTV's Super Saturday Night, the day before the 53rd Super Bowl. And the pre-party event is going all out for its 13th year. A custom-built, 3-tiered, 72,000 square-foot venue will be constructed at Atlantic Station for the sole purpose of the concert, which will also be sponsored by AT&T.
“Undoubtedly iconic, Foo Fighters are known to collaborate with a wide range of performers that attract music lovers across the board,” said Valerie Vargas, senior vice president of advertising and creative services at AT&T (via Atlanta Business Chronicle). “It’s been an honor to continue to build on the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night legacy, and we look forward to bringing fans even closer to the music and entertainment through this marquee event the night before the Big Game.”
Hip-hop heavyweights Run the Jewels are also set to perform at the concert.
The Foo Fighters tweeted out the news on Wednesday (November 28), including ticket information and show details.
