Prepare for a courtroom showdown!
Blac Chyna's attorney is saying one thing and the Kardashian-Jenner family's attorney is saying another after it was confirmed that Chyna’s case against several members of the reality TV family is moving forward with a trial.
On Wednesday (November 28), the former E! Personality's lawyer, Lisa Bloom, tweeted that Chyna, whose real name is Angela Renée White, will finally get her day in court in her case against the Kardashian/Jenners (which claims that the Kardashian family defamed her), calling it a "great win" for her client. "For over a year, Blac Chyna has been fighting to get her day in court against Robert Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian and Kylie Jenner," Lisa said in a statement. "Chyna alleges that she was slut-shamed, defamed and the victim of a plot to kill her hit show, Rob & Chyna, causing her significant financial damages."
"Today the court REJECTED the Kardashian family's request to strike Chyna's entire lawsuit," she continued. "Most importantly, all of Chyna's legal claims stay in. Chyna will therefore be permitted to have her day in court."
However, just hours later, the Kardashian-Jenner family's attorney, Shawn Holley, shot back with a statement claiming Chyna's lawyer's statement was inaccurate. "The Bloom Firm’s press release is not an accurate statement of what happened in court," Shawn told The Blast. "In fact, the Kardashians have successfully chipped away at Ms. White’s outlandish claims since her lawsuit was filed, culminating in [Wednesday]’s hearing — a hearing at which the Court invited counsel for the Kardashians to seek attorney fees against the Bloom Firm for their failure to support Ms. White’s spurious allegations with actual evidence."
Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens in the courtroom.
Both parties will receive their trial date next month.
