Paul Wall and his 12-year-old son Will were involved in a nearly fatal car crash in Austin on Sunday (November 25). The rapper, who is still in a lot of pain after the incident, expressed he and his child are grateful to be alive after the head-on collision.
According to the "Bizzy Body" star, who detailed the accident on Instagram the day after, Wall and Will were pulling into the Austin concert venue where he was set to perform alongside rappers Slim Thug, Mike Jones, and Lil’ Flip when another driver struck their passenger van.
"Before we left the house my son and I prayed like we always do. We prayed that God would protect us while we are out, that our travels would be safe, and that our family and home would be protected while we are gone," Wall wrote. "My son was asking me how he could help, what could he do … He was like an intern for the night. So, we were all excited and proud, and on high alert to make sure nothing goes wrong on his first show with us."
But disaster struck when a driver in a white truck ran a stop light and sped toward them.
"He had 2 hands on the wheel, and he was buckling down as he was speeding up to hit us. Although there was an empty lane to his left, he sped up and came right in my direction (middle row passenger where he made impact)," Wall added. "We all had to climb out of the back of the sprinter because it had spunt around and bent in all the metal, broken glass."
Despite the "excruciating pain" he's in, Wall says his passengers survived the incident unscathed.
