Little Havana is flying under a new flag.
Miami Commissioners Joe Carollo and Manolo Reyes will officially unveil the banner tonight during Little Havana Fridays.
Mayor Carlos Gimenez joined other dignitaries to show off the flag this morning.
The flag combines the American and Cuban flags with a large rooster in the center. Smaller flags surround the banner from Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, and other countries, representing the diversity of the historic community.
Honored to be invited to the unveiling of the official Little Havana flag in the @CityofMiami. This flag symbolically reflects both the uniqueness and diversity of the vibrant, multicultural community in Little Havana and on 8th Street. pic.twitter.com/zXYjhWuEaL
