At least one child died and 40 others were injured when a charter bus crashed in Arkansas. The bus was carrying the Orange Mound Youth Association football team when the driver lost control and landed in an embankment off of I-30, about 25 miles southwest of Little Rock, early Monday (December 3) morning. The bus rolled over four times before stopping on its side.
When first responders arrived, some of the children were still trapped inside of the bus and had to be rescued. 24 of the children were transported to Arkansas Children's Hospital, where officials said they are in stable condition. The other children were taken to different hospitals in the area.
The football team was in Dallas for an All-Star game and was returning home to Tennessee. The children were between eight and 12 years old, and there were also four coaches on board.
The bus driver is being questioned by authorities as they continue to investigate the accident.
