Gerard Way may be known as the frontman of My Chemical Romance, but his creativity doesn't stop at songwriting. For over a decade the singer has been working on his comic book series, The Umbrella Academy, with illustrator Gabriel Bá. Together they have published three series: The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite, The Umbrella Academy: Dallas, and The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion, with a proposed fourth series in development.
Buzz about the comic series getting a Netflix adaptation began in July of 2017, and was eventually confirmed. On Saturday (December 8), the streaming service shared The Umbrella Academy's first trailer.
The show will focus on a family of superheroes known as The Umbrella Academy. Ellen Page stars as Vanya, alongside Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castañeda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan) and Number Five (Aidan Gallagher).
The Umbrella Academy is set to premiere on Netflix February 15, 2019. Watch the trailer below.

Although MCR disbanded in 2013, Way is still working on music. In 2014, he dropped his debut solo album, Hesitant Alien, and is currently working on its follow up. In October, Way released his first single since 2016's Pinkish Don't Try EP and shared a second song, "Getting Down the Germs," just a few weeks later.
Though we don't have any details about Way's sophomore album, his fans have a lot to be excited about.
