Abraham Lincoln Letter Up For Sale

By Daniel Crumbley

December 13, 2018

A letter that Abraham Lincoln wrote just before Christmas of 1863 is up for sale.  The Raab Collection estimates the letter is worth $60,000 and is offering the letter starting tomorrow morning on its website.  The letter was written to allow a husband and wife safe passage to their home in Arkansas.  It asks all those loyal to the United States not to hinder them in their journey.  The wife was the first cousin of Mary Todd Lincoln and it was the wife's descendants who kept the letter.
