Brendon Urie Shares Metal Version of Panic At The Disco's "The Calendar"

If you thought Panic! At The Disco and metal should never be in the same sentence, think again.

During a recent interview with Rock Sound, Brendon Urie revealed that he'd been dabbling in the genre, going so far as to say he wants to incorporate the sound in his music.

“I want to do a metal project in particular,” the frontman confessed. “I actually just played something for my bandmates recently — We have an old song called ‘The Calendar’ and I made a metal version of it from years back. It’s like 90 seconds long and is really fun. Who knows, I might even put that out on SoundCloud on a whim sometime soon!”

Well, he didn't put it on Soundcloud (yet); however, he did stream the song during a recent Twitch session on his personal profile. As the track begins to wail, Urie reveals that it was recorded in 2010 — which would have been just around the time the band was recording Vices & Virtues, the 2011 album that includes the original version of "The Calendar" — and gives his best moshing and crowdkilling moves. It truly is a spectacle to behold, and honestly he pulls it off better than we ever could have imagined.
