When they go low, we say: "Bye, Felicia!"
Michelle Obama got real about her thoughts on Donald Trump's inauguration day while chatting with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Tuesday (December 18).
When the late night host asked the former first lady if she could "just walk [him] through..." (he seemingly was going to say mindset that day) Michelle didn't even give him time to finish his question before responding with two words that perfectly described the high level of "over it" she was that day. "Bye, Felicia," she oh-so-savagely interjected.
After that classy read, Michelle added, "A lot was going on that day. My daughters’ friends decided they needed a sleepover for the last day, and I was like, ‘are you guys kidding me?'" she joked. "'We’re leaving, you gotta take all your stuff, pick it up all the blankets and bears' — while they’re crying — and I’m like 'get out, we gotta go!'"
The best-selling author also brought up the infamous Tiffany's box that Melania Trump gave her outside the White House. "Then there was the Tiffany's box. It just all, you know, a lot," she admitted.
Michelle, who is currently on her Becoming book tour, also discussed her marriage with former President Barack Obama, further elaborating on her previous comments about the two seeking marriage counseling at one point in the marriage.
"Marriage is hard, even for us. We have a great relationship but the thing about marriage counseling is that I was one of those wives that thought 'I’m taking you to marriage counseling so you can be fixed, Barack Obama,' because I was like, 'I’m perfect,'" she said jokingly. "Marriage counseling was a turning point for me understanding that it wasn’t up to my husband to make me happy, that I had to learn how to fill myself up and put myself higher on my priority list."
“I want young people to know that marriage is work, even the best marriages," Michelle continued. "I don’t want young people to quit the minute they have a hardship. If you are married for 50 years and 10 of them are horrible, you’re doing really good."
