Kevin Spacey releases 'House of Cards' inspired video after being charged with sexual assault

On the same day the Cape and Islands, Massachusetts district attorney announced that disgraced actor Kevin Spacey would face a charge of felony sexual assault, the actor shared video of himself appearing in character as Frank Underwood from Netflix's 'House of Cards.'

According to The Boston Globe, prosecutors announced Monday that Spacey will be arraigned on a charge of indecent assault and battery next month. At the same time as the news broke, Spacey shared the bizarre video on his social media channels titled "Let Me Be Frank."

"I know what you want," Spacey begins, apparently in character as Underwood. "Oh sure, they may have tried to separate us, but what we have is too strong, it's too powerful and after all, we shared everything, you and I. I told you my deepest, darkest secrets. I showed you exactly what people are capable of. I shocked you with my honesty, but mostly I challenged you and made you think. And you trusted me even though you knew you shouldn't. So we're not done, no matter what anyone says. And besides, I know what you want: You want me back."

The three-minute video seemingly references Spacey's character, Frank Underwood, being written off the political drama after the actor was accused of sexual assault last year. "All this presumption made for such an unsatisfying ending. And to think, it could have been such a memorable send-off," Spacey muses in the video.

Spacey also asks his viewers to refrain from prejudging him without evidence or facts because he believe that they were "smarter than that ... Because I can promise you this, if I didn't pay the price for the things we both know I did do, I'm certainly not going to pay the price for the things I didn't do."

Spacey, in character as Underwood, adds that he knows people would judge him for "not playing by the rules" but says that people loved that about him.

"Despite all the poppycock, the animosity, the headlines the impeachment without a trial, despite everything, despite even my own death, I feel surprisingly good and my confidence grows each day that soon enough you will know the full truth."

Spacey pauses, and then takes out Frank Underwood's ring and places it back on his finger.

"Now that I think of it, you never actually saw me die did you?" he asks. "Conclusions can be so deceiving. Miss me?"

Spacey was accused last year by former Boston TV news anchor Heather Unruh of sexually assaulting her then 18-year-old son inside the Club Car Restaurant on Nantucket. Unruh says Spacey plied her son with drinks, even though he was not of legal drinking age.

"My son was a starstruck, straight 18-year-old young man who had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator or that he was about to become his next victim," she said. "When my son was drunk, Spacey made his move and sexually assaulted him."

Unruh says that while her son was intoxicated, Spacey reached into his pants and grabbed his genitals without consent.

The disgraced actor was accused of sexual misconduct by nearly a dozen men at London's Old Vic theater where Spacey worked as artistic director for over ten years. An internal investigation by the company found 20 counts of sexual misconduct by Spacey.

Spacey is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 7th, 2019 at Nantucket District Court.
