Jordan Peele has a special Christmas present for all horror fans.
The first trailer for Us has officially been released, showing the film revolves around a family who is haunted by doppelgänger versions of themselves.
This is the second movie Peele has created, after his directorial debut for Get Out. Expectations are high as his movie last year won best original screenplay at The Oscars and was praised for examining race in America.
Last week, Peele screened the trailer for a small group of press where he said:
"Very important for me was to have a black family at the center of a horror film," Peele said. "But it's also important to note, unlike Get Out, Us is not about race. It is instead about something that I feel has become an undeniable truth. And that is the simple fact that we are our own worst enemies."
Peele also teases the "monster" in the film saying:
"I dedicated a lot of myself to create a new horror mythology and a new monster," Peele said. "I think that monsters and stories about monsters are one of our best ways of getting at deeper truths and facing our fears as a society."
Us' cast also includes Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker, as well as Aquaman actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen IIand and 24: Legacy's Anna Diop.
The movie premieres on March 15, 2019, but for announced today that tickets for the film are available now! Watch the trailer above and let us know what you think!
