Inside Safaree Samuels' Proposal To Erica Mena: Friends, Family & Even 112

Romance was in the air over the Christmas holiday when Safaree Samuels proposed to Erica Mena, his girlfriend of just a few weeks.
On Monday (December 24), the Love & Hip Hop star surprised his 31-year-old VH1 co-star with friends and family at her house in Atlanta for the big festivity. As per social media footage, Samuels kept it classic by getting down on one knee and popping the big question along with a diamond engagement ring. It was a flashy event with 20,000 rose petals, 200 candles, fireworks and even live performances of "Cupid" and "Crazy Over You" from 112. "2019 is the year of new beginnings and it’s safe to say our guy Safaree stepped up and put a ring on it," Safaree’s rep told TMZ.
"Sorry I lied about us going on a fancy date 😇😇 It’s crazy I thought I was happy being single but it's no better feeling than having that teammate/best friend/partner," Samuels captioned a shot of the two after the announcement. "There was definitely a void that you filled. Thank you jasmin ❤️ I plan on being the Best Husband ever put on this earth! Salute my brother @therealkdmcnair for always holding me down!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾"
Mena's engagement ring reportedly cost $175,000, features 14 carats in platinum and was personally designed with Trax NYC. Needless it say, Mena was quick to show off the big rock via Instagram. "I'm absolutely the luckiest woman in the world," she captioned a video of her new piece of jewelry. "A Man who has never been afraid to love me. A MAN who has been here and knows everything I been through. Everything before this- It no longer matters."
Samuels & Mena's romance was first reported in late November when the twosome was spotted holding hands while wearing matching fur coats at the Jazz-Nets game at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. An insider close to TMZ later revealed a bit about their blossoming relationship, telling the celebrity gossip site there were "immediate fireworks" between the two when they first met.
