Gardner Minshew II threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score and Washington State denied Iowa State's late two-point conversion in a 28-26 victory in the Alamo Bowl.

Minshew was 35 of 49 for 299 yards to help the Cougars set a school record with their 11th win.

Cyclones quarterback Brock Purdy passed for315 yards and Hakeem Butler caught nine passes for 192 yards.
