Amanda Nunes made history by becoming the first female fighter to win UFC titles in multiple weight classes when she knocked out Cris 'Cyborg' Justino just 51 seconds into one of the most anticipated fights in UFC history on Saturday (December 30) night.
Cyborg had won 20 straight fights, with 17 of those victories coming from knockouts but she was no match for Nunes' haymakers. She knocked Cyborg off balance with a left hook and then put her down for good with a right-handed overhand punch.
"Nothing was going to stop me from what I wanted to do tonight," Nunes said after the match. "When she connected with a couple of punches, I just said, 'I'm going to walk right through her.'"
UFC president Dana White had nothing but praise for the Brazilian fighter.
"She's the best ever," he said. "How can you deny it? That's what this fight was for. If you look at her résumé and who she's beat, she's the best ever. You can't debate that."
This was not the first time Nunes has made quick work of her opponents. In 2016, Nunes finished off Ronda Rousey in just 48-seconds with an unrelenting attack.
