Hilary Duff Recreates Rachel McAdams' Famous Breastfeeding Photo

Rachel McAdams inspired working mothers everywhere when she broke the internet posing for Claire Rothstein's Girls. Girls. Girls. The magazine put the actress in Versace and photographed her while she was pumping breast milk. Hilary Duff was so inspired after welcoming her second child, that she recreated the iconic photo on her Instagram. 

However with no Versace, Hilary took the photo dressed in a shower cap, coat, and white button-down on her couch. It was a clear shoutout to McAdams as she captioned the post, "Am I doing this right?" with a tongue emoji. Duff even shared the photos, one on top of the other. Maybe it was to show off a poke at the "Instagram versus reality" joke. Either way both images side-by-side are awesome. 

McAdams' photo for Girls. Girls. Girls. went viral in December after a spontaneous move to even take the photo. Founder and Editor of the magazine, Claire Rothstein, explained how the photo came about in an Instagram post. She writes: 

A million reasons why I wanted to post this picture. Obviously #rachelmcadams looks incredible and was quite literally the dream to work with but also this shoot was about 6 months post her giving birth to her son, so between shots she was expressing/pumping as still breastfeeding. We had a mutual appreciation disagreement about whose idea it was to take this picture but I’m still sure it was hers which makes me love her even more. Breastfeeding is the most normal thing in the world and I can’t for the life of me imagine why or how it is ever frowned upon or scared of. I don’t even think it needs explaining but just wanted to put this out there, as if it even changes one person’s perception of something so natural, so normal, so amazing then that’s great. Besides she’s wearing Versace and @bulgariofficial diamonds and is just fucking major. Big shout out to all the girls 💪🏽

Duff welcomed her baby girl, Banks, with boyfriend Matthew Koma in October. She also has a six-year-old son, Luca Cruz Comrie, with ex-husband Mike Comrie.
