brother of Pablo Escobar starts GoFundMe to try and impeach trump

The older brother of infamous Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar wants to impeach President Donald Trump, and he's asking the public for help to fund his company's efforts. Roberto De Jesus Escobar Gaviria (also known as El Osito) started the GoFundMe campaign seeking at least $50 million in donations promising a goal of "finally getting Donald Trump impeached!"

On the GoFundMe page, the CEO of Escobar Inc, Olof K. Gustafsson explains that Escobar and his company are the best choice to lead the effort to get Trump out of office, "With the strong leadership of his company Escobar Inc, founded by his brother Roberto Escobar, we will push hard to get Donald Trump impeached."

"So far, everything Pablo and his family have done have become multi-billion dollar successful ventures."

The campaign promises to use any funds donated to the campaign to finance efforts that will get info "to impeach him" as well as  pay professional lobbyists to go against Donald Trump.

"We need your help, the support of the people that agree that it is not fair to have a corrupt President rule over the free world and rule over U.S.A. Make your donation now to help us secure the goal of finally getting Donald Trump impeached!"

Gustafsson claims the campaign isn't a scam, writing that he is using his real information and that people can contact him at any time to "hold me accountable."

The actual disbursement of the funds isn't clear - the campaign says they are constantly discussing with Escobar what strategy should be used to try and impeach the president, promising to give more information at a later date.

Escobar isn't alone on GoFundMe. There are dozens of campaigns dedicated to impeaching Trump (106 at last count), all of which have had little success in raising the kind of money Escobar and associates are asking for.

Still, the lack of success hasn't seemed to discourage Escobar from pursuing the GoFundMe campaign.

"I have always gotten what I want. Everything. I know how to negotiate, and I have the power to get things done. Trump will be impeached." Escobar is quoted as saying on the campaign's website.

At the time this article was published, the campaign had raised $110 of their $50 million goal.
