Ryan Adams Hints At Releasing Three Albums This Year

Ryan Adams has big ambitions for 2019. Three albums kind of ambitions.

“Remember that year when I released 3 records,” the singer-songwriter tweeted on Monday night (January 7). “Let’s do it again.”

By "again," he's referring to 2005, when he put out Cold Roses, Jacksonville City Nights, and 29, and by the sounds of it he's attempting to pull off that feat this year, too.

Aside from teasing a three-album year, the Grammy-nominated artist also gave fans a sneak peek of the first project he plans to release in 2019 by tweeting the album cover for Big Colors, sharing a short video of him and a trio of vocalists singing a cappella during a recording session and photos from inside the studio, revealing that the album was recorded in New York City's historic Electric Lady studio, as well as Los Angeles' Capitol and PaxAm studios.

Although he has yet to announce the release date for Big Colors, he's definitely giving fans something to be excited about this year. Adams' last proper album was 2017's Prisoner, which marked his 16th studio album. At this rate, he could hit the 20-album mark by 2020, and considering his prolific nature, we wouldn't be surprised if he did it.
