Mindy Kaling Says Kelly Kapoor Is Probably In Jail For Murder

Not only did Mindy Kaling star as Kelly Kapoor on NBC's beloved sitcom The Office, but she was also one of the show's writers for all nine seasons. During a recent interview with Variety, Mindy revealed where she thinks her character is today. As fans of the show know, the last we saw of Kelly, she was running away from Dwight's wedding with her on-again-off-again boyfriend Ryan Howard. 

"There’s not an insignificant part of me that thinks that Kelly might be in jail; a crime of passion," Mindy told Variety. "The character just kept getting a little bit more and more unhinged. I don’t want to say that she murdered Ryan but like I’m also not convinced that he’s still alive in the world of The Office."

Even though she thinks Kelly is probably serving time for murder in the universe of The Office, Mindy is still down to see the show come back for a reunion. "I think that anything that Greg [Daniels, the show's creator] decided to do, I would watch and love and want to help him with," she said.

Who knows? Maybe we'll get a The Office style murder mystery all about what happened to Ryan? Kelly would definitely love to be the center of a popular true-crime documentary, just sayin'.
