Senator Ted Cruz spoke on the Senate floor about who's to blame for the Shutdown, saying "just because you hate somebody, doesn't mean you should shut the government down." And no, of course, he's not talking about Trump and the GOP's hatred for people who live below our southern border, he's talking about the Democratic Party.
"So. why are they shutting the government down over 234 miles of wall."
Wait, Democrats are shutting the government down over the Wall? It was Trump who told Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer that he would own the shut down, that he was happy to shut the government down over the Wall.
"It's not substantive, it's political."
Yeah, it's political, that's been established. The Democrats are not going to let Republican set the precedent for a president letting the government shut down over a failed campaign promise.
"Okay, we get, they hate Donald Trump."
True dat.
"If anyone in America missed that point, that they really really really don't like this man, their yelling and screaming and bellowing has made that abundantly clear, but just because you hate somebody, doesn't mean you should shut the government down."
