Jersey Shore's Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is serving eight months in prison for tax evasion and his MTV series co-star has turned to Kim Kardashian for help.
When TMZ cameras caught Vinny Guadagnino heading out of LAX on Tuesday (January 22), his co-star pleaded his case. "Kim, Mike is an amazing person. To me, he's completely reformed. He's, like, a great member of society," the Staten Island native said. "He preaches to kids who have addictions. He's a big advocate and evangelist for recovery. He'd be better off out here helping people. Kim, get on that."
As for how Sorrentino is coping, he's apparently "doing great" behind bars, according to what Guadagnino has heard from his co-star's new wife, Lauren. "I knew he was gonna do good and he was never really nervous about it. So I was praying. I'm like, 'Oh, God, I hope once he's in there it's OK.' He's gonna be all right. He’s so strong, mentally, from his recovery process that it's working out for him now in jail," he explained.
Sorrentino turned himself into federal prison on January 15, nearly a year after he pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion. As per the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, the reality star will be released from the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in upstate New York on September 13. He will also be on supervised release for two years, with 500 hours of community service to complete as a part of his sentencing.
While Kardashian has helped advocate for Alice Marie Johnson, Chris Young, and Cyntoia Brown, she has yet to comment on whether she'll speak up for Sorrentino, but you probably already know the answer to that inquiry.
