Ariana Grande is known to let loose on Twitter, so it wasn't surprising to see the pop titan unveil her follow-up single to "7 rings" on Tuesday (February 5).
When a fan asked Grande her if she had selected her next release, the 25-year-old star named "break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored" as her forthcoming single and it's bound to take over the headlines. First up, the track reportedly samples *NSYNC's "It Makes Me IIl'" from their No Strings Attached LP. On top of that, there's speculation that the cut is about her ex-boyfriend Big Sean, who she dated for eight months back in 2015. If you took a careful look at the music video for "thank u, next," you probably noticed that she included the rapper in her burn book, with a caption that read, "so cute, so sweet" and in parentheses "could still get it."
Grande's new album, thank u, next, will feature 12 songs, including the already released "imagine," "thank u, next," and "7 rings," and is set to drop on Friday.
While you won't see Grande at the 2019 Grammy Awards, Grande is also up for several iHeartRadio Music Awards this year, including fan-voted categories like Best Fan Army presented by Taco Bell and Best Music Video. Fans can vote via Twitter using the appropriate category and nominee hashtags, or by visiting iHeartRadio.com/awards through March 7th (March 13th for Best Fan Army). Find out who will be taking home an award this year by tuning into FOX on March 14th where the show will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles from 8-10 PM ET/PT.
