February 14, 2019
On Thursday (February 14), Jenny Lewis gave fans an anti-Valentine's Day gift in the form of a new kiss off song, "Heads Gonna Roll," where the former Rilo Kiley singer continues showing off her storytelling chops with lines like "Took a little trip up north/ In a borrowed convertible red Porsche/ With a narcoleptic poet from Duluth/ And we disagreed about everything/ From Elliott Smith to Grenadine/ He fell asleep and I put up the roof."
The singer-songwriter recruited the great Ringo Starr to help on drums; Don Was on bass, and The Heartbreakers' Benmont Tench on the Hammond B3 organ.
"Heads Gonna Roll" is the opening track off Lewis' upcoming album, On The Line, which is slated for a March 22nd release. A few days later, she embarks on a lengthy North American and UK tour. Listen to the track and check out a full list of tour dates below.
