If you are a sports fan, there's a good chance you bought a jersey of your favorite player, only to regret it when they are traded or leave to play for another team. When that happens, you have to make a tough choice and decide if you want to keep the jersey, destroy it in anger, or buy a new one with another player's name and number on the back who will hopefully stay with the team for the rest of their career.

Now, the NBA has announced a futuristic solution to that problem with a brand new jersey that will allow you to change the name and number on the back. The league unveiled the "Jersey of the Future" during the All-Star Technology Summit as part of the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver demonstrated how a smartphone can be used to switch both the name and number on the back, leaving the crowd amazed as the #30 Steph Curry jersey became a #23 Michael Jordan jersey.

No details were released on how the "smart jersey" works or when it will be available to the public.
