Taylor Swift Sues Long Island Man

Taylor Swift is firing back at a Long Island man who says that she stole his company’s name for her gaming app. Patrick Benot owns a small computer shop called, “S.L. Swiftlife Computer Services,” and says his company was swamped with calls about Taylor’s game. Taylor wants Benot’s lawsuit to be dismissed and she’s asking that he pay for her lawyer fees. Benot registered the name of his company in July 2018 and says he decided on the name “Swiftlife” because he suffered a terminal illness as a child and “life moves swiftly.” Benot says Swift should’ve checked to see if the name was registered, however, Swift says Benot didn’t contact her before filing the lawsuit, which is against the law. Taylor filed the lawsuit after a judge wouldn’t dismiss Benot’s suit last month. Taylor’s gaming app is set to shut down this month.
