A 45-year-old woman and her 19-year-old daughter have been accused of murdering five members of their family in their Pennsylvania apartment. Shana Decree and her daughter, Dominique Decree, reportedly strangled the victims as part of a murder-suicide pact. Authorities said the victims were Shana Decree’s children, Naa’Irah Smith, 25, and Damon Decree Jr., 13, along with Shana's sister, Jamilla Campbell, 42, and Campbell’s 9-year-old twin daughters, Imani and Erika Allen.
A Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services Agency had stopped by the apartment over the weekend but nobody answered the door. A few days later they returned and when nobody answered they contacted a maintenance worker to open the door. They found the two women laying in bed and said they appeared disoriented. They contacted the police who came and took the women to the hospital.
Shana told authorities that “everyone at the apartment including the nine-year-olds and 13-year-old wanted to die."
“It’s a terrible tragedy. Just spoke to the family of all five of the deceased and we’re all heartbroken,” Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub said.
Dominique and Shana have both been charged with five counts homicide and one count of conspiracy.
