Everybody remain calm: a live-action adaptation of The Baby-Sitters Club is headed to Netflix! The streaming giant has ordered a straight-to-series order for a contemporary take on author Ann M. Martin's best-selling book franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Baby-Sitters Club has been adapted for the screen twice previously, however, this rendition will update the trailblazing series for modern times. The show will still follow Martin's original characters Kristy Thomas, Mary Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill and Dawn Schafer and will also still be in Stoneybrook, Connecticut in the new adaptation.

Netflix's adaption will feature 10 half-hour episodes in the first season, following storylines that focus on Kristy and her friends as they launch their business and deal with girlhood growing pains. Deadline reports that The Baby-Sitters Club will also address serious topics, too, such as racism and divorce.

“I’m amazed that there are so many passionate fans of The Baby-Sitters Club after all these years, and I’m honored to continue to hear from readers – now grown, who have become writers, editors, teachers, librarians, filmmakers – who say that they see a reflection of themselves in the characters of Kristy and her friends," Martin said in a statement. "So I’m very excited about the forthcoming series on Netflix, which I hope will inspire a new generation of readers and leaders everywhere."
